Boo Boo makes a comment
Well today was just like every other day work, work, work, check Kristin for lice, work and more work. So over all a pretty normal day. I just hope that I won't have to start checking her for fleas because that would make for a long day.
A Day in the Life of a Teacher
Let me just say that teaching has been one heck of a roller coaster ride. This year has been the biggest down hill slope since I started in January of 06. For the first time in years I feel like I have a head on my shoulders and instead of feeling like I want to give a good beating to my class- I feel like I am leaving everyday laughing about something that happened. For instance, a week ago, one of my students decided to show me his "James Bond" moves in front of the whole class- twisting and sliding across the front row desks- and totally racked himself and dropped to the floor. I told him he'd better work on his impression. Another of my students loves to hide my stuff (usually my spray bottle for my overhead) and then he likes to ask me, "Mrs. Caaaaaver? Are you missing somefing?" The funniest part is how funny HE thinks it is. My first period always begs me to play music for them and then they spend then entire time making fun of my tunes- to which I get all mad and threaten them with their lives. Over UEA one of my students got her lip pierced but lost the ball that screws on to keep it in place. To hold the post in place, so the hole didn't close up, she had to push on it with her tongue. When she answered any questions she spoke with a lisp- "the woduct wove wive and thwee wis thifteen." I guess you just had to be there.
Today I had one of the grossest things EVER happen. I was sitting next to a student helping him with a problem. When I noticed something moving in the student in front of hims hair...... a little bug was weaving itself around the hair in her scalp...... LICE!! I about threw up and I still itch all over. I sanitized the entire room... and I STILL itch. Tonight I've got to have Hunter inspect my scalp.
Anyways, lets just say it never gets boring!

What to do? What to do?
Tonight I am feeling super blue... Hunter had to go to work and I am sitting here alone watching the election results roll in online. I guess I knew it was coming but I was not quite prepared for an Obama win. What does this mean for our country? For my family? Is there still hope for us?? My views are so far opposite from anything he believes- I am having a hard time swallowing this future. I hope he proves me wrong and does great things. Anyways.... does anyone have some cheese for my whine??
